In it's analysis of the show, the website says,
Heralded as the UK’s answer to 24, Spooks had a lot to live up to. But for anyone who doubted if it would deliver, those thoughts were burned away the moment one of MI5’s finest met a sticky end with her face in a deep-fat fryer. Spooks is not afraid to pull the punches, and whether or not its portrayal of life as an officer in the UK security services is accurate, embellished or even understated, it is utterly compelling none the less. Spooks sounds the death knell for any actor hoping it will provide them with a stable income for a while however – leading characters are snuffed out in the blink of an eye with no heed for fame and fortune, all in the interests of national security.
Stars: Peter Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Rupert Penry-Jones, Hermione Norris, Keeley Hawes, David Oyelowo
Created by: David Wolstencroft
Verdict: I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you
