He is probably best known for his role as Malcolm Wynn-Jones in Spooks, but has also appeared in several other TV shows including Shackleton, Attachments, Vanity Fair, North Square, Big Bad World, and Cold Fee, in which he played John Thomson’s gay landlord. He also played Winston Churchill in Channel Four’s mini-series about the life of right wing politician Mosley. More recently he appeared in the first episode of BBC Drama, The Mill as Dr Holland. |
His films include Possession (2002); A Different Loyalty (2004), and in 20111 he starred alongside Ewan McGregor in Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
He has also appeared on stage including three seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He starred in the 2005 London revival of Epitaph for George Dillon, Edward II at the Manchester Royal Exchange and in 2012 at the New Vic theatre in A Fine Bright Day.
